In 1976, Jane Addams Senior Caucus by Ruth Shriman and other seniors. They were motivated to build a strong grassroots organization led by seniors to provide seniors with opportunities to take collective action together.

Over thirty years later, JASC is a thriving membership organization which builds a network of engaged seniors to act collectively to promote the rights and well-being of seniors.
