Along with Lakeview Action Coalition, created Ruth Shriman House, an affordable senior building of 83 units, planned by senior citizens;

Organizing efforts led the Illinois Senate and House to pass legislation that provides section 8 tenants with the first right to purchase if an owner of a Section 8 building elects to not renew an expiring Section 8 contract. This could save 30,000 units of affordable housing;

Worked tirelessly to assure that the North Center Senior Campus at Western and Irving would have 150 units of truly affordable senior housing; and

Led successful efforts to renew and extend Federal Section 8 contracts, thus assuring the continued affordability of the buildings.
