2022 HONOREES - Bold Campaign Award

Recognizing the bold leadership of organizers across Chicago whose campaigns won big for environmental, economic, and racial justice in Illinois.

  • Stop General Iron - a coalition of residents successfully demanded the City of Chicago deny the permit for a metal shredding operation and polluter to relocate to Chicago's Southeast Side

  • End of Money Bond - pushed for the passage the historic Pretrial Fairness Act, a sweeping package of criminal justice reforms including the abolition of cash bail in Illinois and limits on pretrial incarceration

  • End of Immigrant Detention Centers - pushed for the passage of the Illinois Way Forward Act that shut down ICE detention contracts in Illinois and ended most collaboration between police and ICE

Bring Chicago Home Northside Town Hall

Bring Chicago Home Northside Town Hall

What will happen at the town hall?

You'll get to learn about the Bring Chicago Home proposal to end the homelessness crisis in our city, meet other people on the Northside who care about this issue, and help move this campaign forward. We will be joined by Alderpeople Andre Vasquez (40), Matt Martin (47), Harry Osterman (48), and Maria Hadden (49).

Why should I attend?

We need as many people as possible showing they support creating a dedicated revenue stream for affordable housing! In other words, we need guaranteed money every year going to fight homelessness, and that money should be coming from those most able to pay taxes - wealthy real estate developers.

We need a powerful turnout in order to show City Council and the Mayor: we need Bring Chicago Home now!

This event will be held both virtually and in person at Unity Lutheran Church (1212 W Balmoral).

Press Conference and Rally in Response to Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health

Press Conference and Rally in Response to Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health

From our friends at Chicago for Abortion Rights:

This 2018 Mississippi abortion ban could threaten to overturn Roe v Wade. The US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the case as soon as November 2021.

Shannon Rotolo PharmD will speak for ISPC

Duane Dowell MD will speak for PNHP Illinois

Access to safe, legal abortion with no financial burdens saves lives and protects health and fertility. It is the right of every person who requests it. The right to abortion – and to all other reproductive health care – can only be fully realized under a national single-payer healthcare system, where all medically necessary care is guaranteed and free at the point of service.
