A Statement from Executive Director Saskia Harak

Dear JASC members and friends,

Over the last year, I have deeply enjoyed the opportunity to work with you all and build our organization together. I have seen seniors stand up to their building management, make bold demands of their elected officials, and develop ambitious plans for building senior power.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last year. After a hard year of taking on a new role, leading during a pandemic, and challenges in life outside of JASC, I’ve made the tough decision to step away from my role as Executive Director. I do this with love for the organization and everyone who is a part of it.

I will continue to fight for our shared values, and will be there to cheer on leaders and staff every step of the way. The member-leadership of JASC and JASIA are strong, and Board Members have assembled a supportive transition team. This team is actively developing plans for the next steps for the organization, and you will hear more from them very soon.

I leave you with gratitude for this powerful experience, and energy to see where the organization moves forward to next.

In solidarity,

Saskia
